Confirmation classes will begin this Sunday at 11:15 and will continue every week, excluding Easter Day, for nine weeks. If you desire to be confirmed or (for those already confirmed by the laying on of hands of a bishop in another Communion) received into the Episcopal Church, or if you'd just like a refresher, please join us in the parish library. Open to those aged 12 through 112.

Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist for Ash Wednesday (March 6th) will be at 7 AM, Noon, and 6 PM. Join us as we "make a right beginning of repentance, and ... mark ... our mortal nature" as we commence this holy season.

If you're looking for some Lenten reading, check this out. I haven't read it yet, but if the Archbishop has recommended it, I bet it's good!

Taize worship this evening has been cancelled. Services will take place as scheduled this morning for whoever shows up, but exercise good judgment, be safe, and don't feel obliged to do anything that is likely to put you at risk. I don't want to be like the pastor in this meme. If, however, you do make it this morning, please enter via the east door, by the city parking lot. See the previous post for a handy way to pray Morning Prayer by yourself or with your household if you're stuck at home.

Just a reminder of our winter weather policy (which I made up)... Sunday morning services will occur as scheduled, but there is no danger to your soul in missing church if danger to your body is a serious possibility should you attempt to make it. Use your best judgment. If you are scheduled to serve in some liturgical capacity and don't want to chance it, kindly send me an email ([email protected]) or a text message (870-613-5417) and I will take care of dragooning somebody present to take your spot. I will make a decision in the morning regarding both Taizé and the Eucharist at Birchaven and will let you know via email and on this post.
